| Microwave detector - RADAR | |
Electronic system that transmits, receives and evaluates targeted microwaves. System
can be set to trigger another traffic device such as a warning lamps. Operates in one direction only (may be set for approaching/leaving vehicles).
- examples of use:
- warning lamps is triggered by a vehicle approaching at any speed
- warning lamps is triggered by a vehicle approaching at a speed higher than the pre-set speed
- traffic analysis (number of vehicles passing 100000)
- may be used as an alternative to an induction loop, since it is not dependent on suitability of the
terrain, may be installed at any suitable raised vantage point, for example on a lamp posts, sign post or house wall
